Speak Up Kids is a confidence and communication programme for children aged 8–12.
Through fun, structured sessions, children learn how to:
Speak clearly and confidently
Organise their thoughts and ideas
Use eye contact and body language
Share stories and presentations
Manage nerves and build self-belief
Our focus is on real-life communication skills, not acting or performance, helping children feel more confident at school, socially, and as they grow.

We limit every session to a maximum of 10 children so each child receives individual support, speaking time, and maximum encouragement.
Every child is heard. Every child participates.

At Speak Up Kids it is our belief that public speaking is an improvable skill not a talent.
Given the opportunity and a safe environment every child has the ability to become confident and persuasive speakers. A skill that is even more important now in an increasingly technological world.

Each term culminates with Speak Up X.
An opportunity to allow our young people to shine and express themselves confidently on stage.

JJ has over 15 years teaching experience in the UK, China and Mongolia. While in Asia he spent 5 years developing a locally based Drama and Public Speaking course that saw over 600 students graduate by delivering speeches at TED style events. JJ has received training from Stagecoach Performing Arts, the National Institute of Dramatic Arts in Melbourne and Character Counts.
JJ is a strong believer in the fact that public speaking is a skill that anyone can develop. Given the opportunity and environment to start practicing earlier in life, children unlock the ability to tap into a wealth of confidence. Perhaps more important is children understanding the value of their own thoughts, their own opinions, through their own style of communication.
Speak UP Kids encapsulates this mission and JJ is hugely proud to share this with your children.

Years of Experience
Speak Up Kids runs in 12-week terms, with weekly small-group sessions designed to build confidence step by step.
Each session lasts 90 minutes, giving children plenty of time to practise speaking, build skills, and grow in confidence.
Groups are limited to 10 children to ensure every child receives individual attention and regular speaking time.
Every term ends with a special presentation showcase, Speak Up X, where each child shares their talk with parents.
Includes:
Weekly 90-minute sessions
Small groups (maximum 10 children)
Structured six-stage confidence programme
End of term presentation event
Free trial session before enrolling
Our sessions are split into stage 1, suitable for children aged 8-10 and stage 2, suitable for children aged 10-12.
We believe children learn best through play, curiosity, and imagination, combining creativity with structured guidance to build lifelong skills.
We build the fundamental practical skills of public speaking - speech construction and speech delivery and rather than focus on assessment we focus on our students building their confidence and practical ability which culminates during the Speak Up X event.
